Jewish Apple Cake
3 cups flour ½ tsp. salt 2½ cups sugar 1/3 cup orange juice 1 cup vegetable oil 1 ½ tsp vanilla 4 eggs 3 tsp. Baking powder 6 apples, peeled and sliced 1 tsp. Cinnamon 3 Tbl. Sugar ¼ tsp. Nutmeg ½ tsp. Allspice
Mix together flour, 2 ½ c. sugar, oil, eggs, salt, baking powder, vanilla & orange juice. Batter will be very thick. Peel and slice apples and add 3 Tbl. Sugar and spices and stir well. Layer the batter and apples into a greased tube pan. First layer is batter, then apples , batter and top with remaining apples. Bake at 350° F for about 1 ½ to 2 hours.
